Gabriola Medical Clinic
Gabriola Medical Clinic began in 1994. In 2012, we moved into a beautiful, modern, community-built building — the Gabriola Community Health Centre.
The doctors and staff aim to offer the best possible medical care to people on Gabriola Island. We believe the relationship between doctors, patients, and staff to be a partnership, working best when based on mutual trust and respect. We aim to follow this compact, published by the BC General Practice Services Committee, and we encourage you to, too.

The Building
The clinic is grateful to occupy a wonderful building that was built by the community on Gabriola and is operated by the Gabriola Health Care Foundation. Travel Assistance Forms
Travel assistance forms are available for eligible BC residents who need to travel within the province for non-emergency medical specialist services not available within their own community. Please call ahead with the name of the specialist or service and we can have the form ready for you quickly.

Fees and Charges
The Medical Services Plan of BC (MSP) covers most necessary medical services for BC residents. Please refer to our Fee Schedule here for complete details.
Recruitment
The Gabriola Medical Clinic is a teaching clinic affiliated with the UBC Faculty of Medicine. You may see medical students working with your family practitioner during your appointment.
We believe there are around 800 patients on Gabriola who are not registered with a primary care provider. Our aim is that everyone on the island who wants a GP at our clinic can receive it.
During the pandemic, we’re doing our best to accommodate everyone on Gabriola. Call us on (250) 247-9922.

This is great! I do hope this platform has a better track record for maintaining patient privacy than other platforms (like Telus!) ❤️
I always love how these systems (and their sign-ins, passwords, click boxes, page sequences, etc.), are spun as an opportunity or improvement. I'm a deeply digital guy, and I don't buy that. They are a cost saving mechanism for the clinic, and that's important to ensure that our clinic can continue, but let's not claim it's an improvement for the patient 🙂
I used it yesterday to make an appointment and it took maybe 30 seconds to do. I could easily see what was available and choose the day and time I wanted. Easy as can be. I found it to be a great improvement over making one by phone.
This is the message I got when signing up - "Your clinic does not currently allow appointments to be booked online. Go back to your dashboard" Must be some wrinkles to be ironed...

Update 7:30pm Sunday Dec 4th. There will be a warming station set up at the church on the corner of Church st and North road that will run tonight from 7pm to 10pm, and tomorrow from 10am to 10pm. If you need a ride GERTIE will take you to the warming center.
